(Subscribe on iTunesSpotify, StitcherSoundCloud or TuneIn) What is your relationship with sleep? Sleep plays a huge role in our pregnancy and adapting your sleep schedule post-birth is complicated – not to mention exhausting. Sleep expert, Dr. Leigha Saunders is back on the podcast to share her wisdom on optimising sleep while pregnant, with a newborn, and into motherhood. Dr. Leigha has previously been on episode 145 where we talked about how sleep impacts our menstrual cycle and episode 223 on sleep cycles from menarche to menopause. She is the creator of The Better Sleep Bootcamp, a 5 step framework for women to balance their hormones and achieve deeper, consistent sleep. In this episode, Dr. Leigha tells the story of how she became a sleep expert, why sleep is the ultimate gauge of our nervous system, sleeping throughout the trimesters of pregnancy, how to tackle sleep insomnia and disturbances, and her message to expecting mums who are exhausted and anxious.
