Have you heard of Ayurvedic healing or Panchakarma Have you heard of Ayurvedic healing or Panchakarma?
In today’s episode, I am joined for a second time by Dr. Vignesh Devraj (@vigneshdevraj , a 4th generation Ayurvedic healer and the founder and chief physician of Sitaram Beach Retreat, to talk about how ayurvedic principles can help support menstruation and other aspects of women’s health.
If you haven’t listened to Dr. Vignesh’s first time on the Well Woman Podcast, check out episode 47 where we chatted about the Ayurvedic Approach to Menstrual Cycles, PCOS, Endometriosis and Infertility.
Throughout this episode, Dr. Vignesh talks about the imbalances in women’s health, the practice of Panchakarma, the experience that Sitaram Beach Retreat provides, ways to heal from stress, the importance of saying no, opening up chakras, and the impact that menstruating can have while practicing Panchakarma or while at the Sitaram Retreat.

Although common... this isn't normal... Inside my Although common... this isn't normal...
Inside my in-person and online workshops, there is always some emotion of anger, frustration and rage about “WHY am I only learning or discovering this in my late 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, even 50’s….”
First things first 👉🏼 these emotions are very valid and very okay. After all, we are unwrapping 1000’s of years of menstrual suppression! You are not alone. ❤️
Secondly, it's not your parents fault or your schools fault. Why we were taught is something that has been banished from conversations far before the generations that brought you up. We're talking 100's if not 1000's of years here.
Thirdly, follow @cyclical_school for all things menstrual cycle education. If you have a love for all things women health, you might also fancy our certification course.
Drop me a flower in the comments below if you have ever felt like this, too 🌸🌼🌺🌻🌹
PS. Only at the beginning of your journey of newly discovery of your cycle? Um, YAY!!!

Considering about coming off hormonal contraceptio Considering about coming off hormonal contraception... “how the F do I do that?” 🤷🏼♀️
Here’s my;
TOP 5 TIPS FOR SAFELY COMING OFF HORMONAL CONTRACEPTION
1. Get to know your cycle before you remove contraception. This means track it, using either a a pill bleed or the moons. I teach all about this in my 5-Day #LoveYourCycle mini course. And if you don’t already have it downloaded my Free #menstrualcycle tracker via link in bio @wellsome_jemalee
2. Check your hormone levels before stopping or removing contraception. This is such an easy step, I cover what to ask for over inside the Well Woman Academy. A visit to a doctor you trust is a great idea.
3. Support your body with the right nutrients. This means through both food and nutritional products together. I use and recommend the products that are shared via the link in my bio. Ensuring your body is getting everything it needs nutritionally is important, especially because many hormonal contraceptives deplete you of some vital minerals and vitamins.
4. Remove hash (if not all) liver-loaders from your lifestyle and diet. Some women don't like the idea of this however it can largely help so I STRONGLY recommend it, starting with caffeine and alcohol 🙅🏼♀️☕️🍸
5. Give your body time (it’s not a race!), allow, connect, feel, acknowledge, treat.
I wrote a whole article on “How to Safely Come Off Contraception”, over at Wellsome.com
Start with these!👆🏼
Then ask for support, consider working with a coach to support you and educate you through the process. (It’s what I wish I had when I came off the pill!)

Happy New Moon 🖤🤍 Did you know yesterday wa Happy New Moon 🖤🤍
Did you know yesterday was the Equinox?
Last night B and I took a walk to the beach after I completed a guest teaching session for my friend Tully. We gathered our dark moon prayers, our Autumn Equinox letting go intentions and together had a beautiful letting go ceremony.
(Northern Hemispherians, you’re in the Spring Equinox)
Equinox meaning, equal day and equal night.
Honestly, I was surprised B said Yes to a letting go ritual when I suggested it so I ran with it.
This equinox means we are officially entering the darkness in the southern hemisphere and I am SO calling in slowness, softness and grace as we transition closer and closer to Winter.
The last 7 weeks since returning home from Tasmania has been the most intense period of my life. From the time I awake early for my morning practice at 5:00am to the time I either finish a work call, often at 8:30pm I’ve been on the go.
As my bestie Amber says; Jema, you can play hard as long as you rest harder.
Here is a shot of me sitting on my yoni thrown while yoni steaming and simultaneously guasha’ing my face. This was last Friday, the day my calendar began turned towards the Autumn Equinox pace. I’m grateful for this moment as it represents inwardness, the decent (hello Cycle Day 25).
Craving some me time, self care and self honouring?
We have 3 spaces remaining for our Cyclical Awaken Retreat starting next Thursday 30th March at 4pm.
(Last chance to register, DM me or visit Link in Bio @wellsome_jemalee )

How many days of bleeding is a healthy menstruatio How many days of bleeding is a healthy menstruation?
Be sure to save this one and share with a friend 📌
Well, this can entirely depend on age. For teens, the first few periods ideally last between three to five days and will be mostly light.
As we get older, an average period length can last anywhere between 2 to 7 days, but anything that is consistently longer than 5 days is worth investigating.
Other signs of a healthy bleed:
🩸You only bleed during the days you have your period, not mid cycle
🩸Your blood is a healthy vibrant red colour on your heaviest days
🩸Your menstrual cycle is between 26-35 days
🩸Your period is cycle sign and pain free
I'd love to know your age and your average menstruation length 👇
